Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year nursing experience, preferably in oncology
  • Current RN licensure
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and OCN preferred
  • Proficient in venipuncture, IV insertion, central line care, wound and skin care
  • Competent in managing nausea, vomiting, mucositis, and transfusion of blood products
  • Knowledgeable in infection prevention and lab value monitoring

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver nursing care to a patient ratio averaging 1 RN to 4-5 patients, supported by CNAs and other nursing staff
  • Manage complex oncology cases including hematology, gynecologic, and surgical oncology patients
  • Perform central line access and care
  • Utilize electronic medical records (Epic) and related medical technology such as IV pumps and monitors
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes
  • Operate within a weekend rotation schedule including holiday coverage and work 6 to 12 hour shifts (day or night)
