Job Description
Provide skilled nursing care in a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital that serves a diverse inpatient medical-surgical and telemetry population. This contract role based in Macon, GA offers an opportunity to apply your Med-Surg/Tele nursing expertise in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment supporting patients with acute and chronic conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions on med-surg and telemetry units with 20-36 beds each
- Manage cardiac telemetry rhythms, post-catheterization care, TR band and groin site management
- Administer and titrate drips including insulin, heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, milrinone, Digoxin, and nicardipine (HR titration only)
- Provide care for patients with common diagnoses such as diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, a-fib, and post-surgical care including orthopedic and trauma cases
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for discharge planning and patient education
- Perform tracheostomy care, chest tube management, PIV starts, IV maintenance, and glucommander device monitoring
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of med-surg/telemetry RN experience
- Current RN licensure with BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Certification in Med-Surg nursing is a plus
- Proficient in EPIC EMR and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Strong assessment, time management, and care coordination skills
Schedule & Work Environment:
- 12-hour shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A) on a 6-week rotation cycle
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 shifts per 12 days
- Work one major holiday shift per set rotation
- No call required
- Float pool assignment covering all Med/Tele units

- Scrubs: Navy for RNs
- Support: CNA, unit secretaries, charge nurses, telemetry techs, and specialized teams on site
- Orientation includes 1 day on unit plus educational modules and 2 days departmental training
