Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts: 7A7P or 7P7A
- Weekend rotation: 56 shifts out of 12 (over a 6-week cycle)
- No on-call requirement
- Flexibility to float to all adult med-surg/telemetry units
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license and BLS required; ACLS and national certifications (med-surg/nephrology) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience
- Strong clinical assessment skills for a Level 1 Trauma setting
- Proficiency in trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, insulin/heparin drips (excluding BP titration)
- Competency in IV insertion, central line care, cardiac/telemetry monitoring, and wound/post-op care
- Experience with interdisciplinary care coordination, discharge planning, and patient education, especially renal/fluid management
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse patient population: trauma, ortho, post-surgical, and chronic illness
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:46, supported by CNAs and unit secretaries
- Collaborate with 24/7 hospitalist, intensivist, and resource teams
- Participate in unit protocol for rapid turnover, EPIC documentation, and interdisciplinary communications
- Ensure high standards in medication administration, monitoring, and patient safety
