Job Description

Step into a vital nursing role supporting a dynamic MedSurg/Telemetry team in an advanced care setting. The facility features 207 licensed beds and specialized centers for stroke and chest pain care. Nurses in this contract assignment will be based primarily within a dedicated home unit, with the expectation of floating throughout designated regional facilities as needed to meet patient care demands.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Weekend rotation required (every other weekend)
  • No on-call obligations
  • Holiday coverage required for 75% of major holidays
  • Schedule set every 6 weeks
  • Up to 6 days of requested time off (excluding holidays), with the potential to extend the contract for additional days off if needed

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse licensure
  • Minimum of 18 months recent MedSurg/Telemetry experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Competency in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and a variety of drain/tube management skills
  • Experience with cardiac drips, heparin, blood product administration, and IV fluids
  • Comfort with floating across all units within regionally assigned facilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive care for patients with complex medical diagnoses such as renal failure, DM, pancreatitis, sickle cell, fluid overload, and behavioral health needs
  • Manage patient ratios averaging 1:5-6 (surge capacity up to 1:7-8)
  • Collaborate with CNAs, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists
  • Utilize Epic for documentation, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell med dispensing systems
  • Maintain professionalism and adaptability when transitioning between units or regional facilities
