Step into a dynamic environment where you will provide compassionate care for patients on a 22-bed unit with a mix of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry cases. As part of this dedicated team, you will deliver high-quality nursing services while working alongside a collaborative group of healthcare professionals that includes 24/7 hospitalist support and robust ancillary services.
Schedule/Hours:
- Expectation to cover every other weekend (schedule may adjust based on business needs)
- Some call required for permanent staff; rotating schedule determined by unit requirements
- Mixed approach to schedule requests: blend of self-scheduling and business need
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license with experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing
- Ability to float to Med/Surg, Telemetry, and to task in departments such as ED, ICU, and OB
- Comfortable adapting to new settings and tasks per union agreement
- Proficient with Pyxis medication system and Cerner documentation platform
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Commitment to working within established staffing ratios (Telemetry: 4:1, Med/Surg: 5:1)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population in Med/Surg and Telemetry settings
- Float to different units as necessary and undertake task-based support in specialized areas
- Utilize advanced medication and documentation systems to ensure safe, timely care
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams including hospitalists and intensivists for continuity of care
- Maintain a focus on quality, safety, and patient satisfaction
Additional Details:
- IV nurse and transportation support available on weekdays (dayshift only)
- Full access to 24/7 pharmacy and phlebotomy services
- Time-off requests limited (not over holidays, and not exceeding two weeks per request)
