This contract nursing opportunity in Englewood, CO, is ideal for Registered Nurses with orthopedic surgical unit experience seeking a dynamic work environment. The assignment is based on a 7 PM to 7 AM schedule, offering the chance to work with a dedicated team providing care to elective orthopedic and orthopedic trauma patients.
The orthopedic surgical unit operates on the 9 South floor within the main hospital building. It features a 20-bed capacity with a supportive staff-to-patient ratio averaging 1:5, ensuring attentive patient care and manageable workloads. The unit uses Meditech as its EMR system and values registered nurses who can independently manage five patients per shift.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Providing comprehensive orthopedic patient care, including dressing changes and aspiration procedures
- Managing pain effectively in post-surgical and trauma patients
- Collaborating with an engaged nursing team to deliver quality patient outcomes
- Maintaining unit policies and procedures to ensure safety and compliance
Desired Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure with experience in orthopedic surgical nursing
- Ability to handle a surgical patient load independently
- Familiarity with pain management techniques
