This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses proficient in medical-surgical care, particularly those with a background in orthopedic and pain management. Working on a surgical unit with a focus on orthopedic patients, the role requires the ability to independently manage a five-patient load in a fast-paced hospital setting. Responsibilities include:
- Managing patient care for up to five surgical patients independently
- Performing dressing changes and aspirations as needed
- Applying pain management techniques effectively
- Collaborating with a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
- Adhering to unit policies and contributing to a positive, team-oriented environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Current RN license with proven experience in medical-surgical nursing
- Prior experience in orthopedic care and pain management preferred
- Ability to take initiative and work independently in a surgical unit setting
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills are essential
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems, preferably Meditech
Schedule:
- Night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM
Additional Information:
- The unit consists of 20 beds with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Staff includes one charge nurse and four nurses per shift
