Job Description
Provide skilled nursing care in a busy acute care hospital setting, specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients during night shifts. This contract role demands RN expertise to deliver high-quality patient care, including monitoring telemetry, managing patient needs, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams within a Level III Trauma facility.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care on Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units during 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM), three shifts per week.
- Monitor and interpret telemetry data to ensure prompt intervention.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Adhere to hospital policies and protocols using Epic electronic charting.
- May be required to float within related units or sister facilities to meet operational needs.
- Maintain BLS and ACLS certifications; NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.
- Uphold patient safety and quality standards in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current SC RN license or Compact license must be active before starting.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted.
- Telemetry competency required; prior charge nurse experience and community hospital exposure beneficial.
- Ability to work weekend shifts every other weekend.
- Flexibility to accommodate occasional schedule adjustments on approval.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
