Job Description

Provide expert nursing care in a dynamic medical-surgical orthopedic unit that values teamwork and quality patient outcomes. This contract opportunity is based in Arvada, CO, on a 20-bed unit specializing in elective orthopedic and orthopedic trauma patients. Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage care for up to 5 patients per shift
  • Perform typical surgical unit procedures including dressing changes and aspirations
  • Provide pain management and orthopedic care as needed
  • Collaborate closely with charge nurses and nursing staff to maintain a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Utilize Meditech EMR system for documentation and patient management
  • Support a positive patient experience by adhering to unit guidelines and promoting teamwork

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Current and valid RN license
  • Proven ability to effectively manage a surgical nursing caseload independently
  • Experience in a surgical or orthopedic-focused nursing environment required
  • Preferred skills include pain management and orthopedic nursing expertise
  • Positive attitude and strong team player mentality

Schedule:

  • Night shift hours from 7 PM to 7 AM
