Job Description
Experienced registered nurses with a background in interventional radiology or vascular procedures are needed for a contract assignment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital environment, supporting a busy IR department with pre- and post-operative patient care, charting, sedation assistance, and patient monitoring.
Schedule/Hours
- Variable 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts (start times may be 7am or 8am, based on department needs)
- On-call required every 3-4 days during the week (Monday-Friday) and every 3rd to 4th weekend
- Weekend coverage defined as nights (Friday-Sunday) and days (Saturday-Sunday)
- No required weekends; weekend work is on-call only
- 40 hours guaranteed per week
- 13-week duration
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of interventional radiology or cath lab experience
- Ability to perform hourly rounding and effectively monitor all assigned patients
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Patient-centered approach and collaborative attitude
- Experience in both IR and Cath Lab preferred for flexibility
- Meditech EMR experience a plus
- Prior experience in a hospital with 200+ beds is desirable
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive pre- and post-operative care to IR patients
- Assist with charting, vitals monitoring, and administering sedation
- Support patients through their procedures, focusing on safety and comfort
- Float between IR and Cath Lab as necessary, contingent on department volume
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to uphold high standards of patient care
