Job Description

This position offers the unique opportunity to deliver specialized nursing care in a dynamic interventional radiology (IR) setting within a Level 1 Trauma Center. The role focuses on pre-procedural preparation, post-procedural recovery, and overnight observation for a diverse patient population, including both inpatient and outpatient individuals. Ideal candidates will bring critical thinking skills, strong communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre- and post-procedural care for interventional radiology patients.
  • Manage overnight patient observation and care for up to 23 hours.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support diagnostic imaging procedures including CT scans, MRIs, nuclear medicine, X-rays, and ultrasound.
  • Ensure patient safety through vigilant monitoring and timely interventions.
  • Apply knowledge of telemetry and medical/surgical nursing to provide comprehensive care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience in interventional radiology.
  • Telemetry experience is required.
  • Current New York State RN license.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience with gastrointestinal post-procedural care is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt in a high-energy environment.
