Job Description

This opportunity offers a dynamic role in a fast-paced interventional radiology (IR) department at a level 1 trauma center. The position involves providing comprehensive care to both inpatient and outpatient populations across all age groups. The nurse will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, focusing on pre-procedural preparation, post-procedural recovery, and overnight observation care for IR patients. Experience in GI post-procedural care is preferred but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver nursing care before and after interventional radiology procedures.
  • Manage 23-hour care for patients undergoing IR interventions.
  • Provide care for patients boarding overnight either pre- or post-procedure.
  • Work collaboratively within a high-energy Diagnostic Imaging environment, supporting procedures such as CT scans, MRIs, Nuclear Medicine scans, X-rays, and ultrasounds.
  • Utilize strong communication and critical thinking skills to ensure patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years as a Registered Nurse specializing in Interventional Radiology.
  • Telemetry experience is required.
  • Valid New York State RN license.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association.
  • Medical/Surgical and telemetry nursing experience preferred.
