Key Qualifications:

  • Active, unencumbered RN license
  • At least one year of recent ICU experience in an acute care environment
  • Strong clinical assessment, intervention, and documentation capabilities
  • Demonstrated skills in guiding, supervising, and supporting nursing staff at multiple levels
  • Proficiency in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create and execute comprehensive care plans
  • Solid understanding of patient safety protocols, critical care technologies, and the nursing process
  • Ability to apply sound critical thinking and independent judgment in high-pressure situations

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and deliver evidence-based nursing care to ICU patients, adhering to established clinical standards and protocols
  • Employ the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation) to optimize patient outcomes
  • Supervise, direct, and mentor assigned staff within the unit; oversee workflow and delegate tasks effectively
  • Engage with other healthcare disciplines to ensure collaborative, interdisciplinary patient management
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely in accordance with regulatory and facility requirements
  • Actively participate in ongoing education, ensuring both individual competencies and department compliance
  • Serve as a resource for education and orientation to Float Pool nursing staff, ensuring correct unit protocol adherence
