Job Description

This role offers an opportunity to provide specialized nursing care in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) setting, focusing on patients with complex neurological, cardiac, respiratory, and trauma conditions. Candidates will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor patients with conditions such as neuro, cardiac, trauma, COPD, DKA, sepsis, MI, and post-operative care in a 64-bed unit with 15 neuro-designated beds.
  • Operate and maintain specialty equipment, including temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo therapy devices.
  • Care for patients on chronic ventilators, assisting respiratory therapy teams as needed.
  • Participate in floating assignments within the department as required.
  • Utilize EMR systems proficiently, specifically EPIC, to document and coordinate patient care.
  • Work the assigned shift from 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. with block scheduling availability, though not guaranteed.
  • Adhere to unit dress code, typically navy blue scrubs.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active RN license with current verification through NURSYS, including all RN licenses held.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in IMCU/Progressive Care Unit settings.
  • Proven travel nursing experience.
  • Two recent references documenting leadership or charge RN roles in IMCU.
  • Current certifications in AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
  • Valid drivers license reflecting current demographic address.
  • Ability to provide required submission documents including resume, skills checklist, and Return to Office (RTO) information.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EPIC electronic medical records system.
