Job Description

Seeking an experienced critical care nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting. This role is based within a comprehensive ICU that includes medical, surgical, and cardiovascular patients. The ideal candidate will bring clinical excellence and a flexible approach to shift between ICU and step-down units as needed.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current RN license, unrestricted and in good standing
  • Minimum of three years of recent ICU nursing experience
  • Strong clinical background in medical, surgical, and cardiovascular critical care
  • Demonstrated ability to float between ICU and step-down areas confidently
  • Adaptable in fast-paced environments with diverse patient populations
  • Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and communication skills
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; additional specialty certifications a plus

Schedule:

  • Contract assignment (details provided during interview)
  • Flexible to work varied shifts as required, including weekends and holidays if needed

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients in a conglomerate ICU
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
  • Float to step-down unit and other critical care service lines as staffing or patient needs dictate
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient status, administering medications and interventions per protocols
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families throughout the care continuum
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and healing environment through best practices and continuous performance improvement
