Job Description
Provide advanced nursing care for critically ill patients as part of a dedicated Intensive Care Unit team. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by supervising and guiding assigned clinical staff, ensuring all patient care meets established standards and utilizes the full scope of nursing knowledge and critical thinking.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to assigned patients in the ICU, applying the nursing process and established protocols
- Supervise and direct activities of assigned nursing staff to promote quality patient care
- Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals to coordinate effective patient treatment plans
- Use sound professional judgment and critical thinking to address complex patient needs
- Oversee and support the professional development of Float Pool nurses, ensuring accurate clock-in procedures for unit assignments
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to regulatory, safety, and ethical standards
- Participate in continual education activities and support non-productive hours within the Float Pool as assigned
Qualifications:
- Current & unrestricted RN license
- Previous experience in an Intensive Care/critical care setting required
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- Proven ability to supervise teams and coordinate care
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in high-stress situations
- Commitment to patient safety, ongoing education, and nursing best practices
