Job Description
A registered nurse with Emergency Room experience is needed for a contract opportunity in West Bend, WI. This role involves providing care in a Level III Trauma Center with a Level II NICU and a Primary Stroke Center, serving a diverse patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to emergency department patients, including those with chest pain, atrial fibrillation, and stroke
- Manage higher acuity cases classified as ESI Level 2-3
- Perform PIV starts, interpret cardiac rhythms, and administer cardiac drips and vasopressors; TPA administration is preferred
- Utilize Epic charting system proficiently and operate Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication systems
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including charge nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, pharmacists, and electronic ICU support available around the clock
- Adhere to hospital policies and maintain professionalism with appropriate scrub attire
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 2 years of emergency room experience
- Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH Stroke Scale, and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC preferred)
- Proficient in Epic electronic medical record system
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to thrive in a collaborative environment
Schedule and Benefits:
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
