An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Emergency Room experience to provide vital care in a busy Level III Trauma Center. This contract position is based in Waukesha, WI, offering the chance to work in a dynamic environment with a variety of patient populations ranging from neonates to geriatrics.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC (preferred).
• Proficient in PIV starts, cardiac rhythm interpretation, cardiac gtts, vasopressors; TPA administration preferred.
• Experience operating EPIC electronic health record system required.
• Ability to handle higher acuity patients with ESI Levels 2-3.
• Comfortable working with a patient ratio of 1:3-4.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to a diverse emergency patient population, including geriatrics, chest pain, afib, stroke victims.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including charge nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, pharmacists, and critical care support available 24/7.
• Utilize bedside telemetry monitoring and manage medications with equipment such as Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis systems.
• Participate in weekend rotation every other week, with holiday coverage expected for one summer and one winter holiday.
• Follow hospital protocols with a professional approach, including dress code guidelines.
• Complete a two-day hospital orientation plus a unit shadow shift.

Location Overview: Situated in Waukesha, WI, this Level III Trauma Center supports a comprehensive range of acute care services including a Level II NICU and Primary Stroke Center.
