Job Description

Provide critical care in a fast-paced emergency department setting at a busy urban trauma center. This contract position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality nursing care to patients ranging from pediatrics to adults in a Level 1 Trauma, Stroke, STEMI, and regional burn center. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes, ensuring effective coordination of care while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Monitor and coordinate care activities with ancillary departments to ensure comprehensive patient management
  • Adhere to Missouri Nurse Practice Act, professional standards, and facility code of conduct
  • Maintain accountability for nursing care quality and evaluate effectiveness of care provided by colleagues
  • Assist in emergency interventions, trauma response, and critical patient stabilization

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
  • Minimum 1 year emergency department experience in a Level 1 trauma center OR 2 years in a Level 2 trauma facility (must be specified on resume)
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), TNCC, NIHSS (must be obtained prior to start if not currently held)
  • Experience with high patient acuity, trauma, and pediatrics preferred
  • Ability to work day shift (07:00 - 19:00), with weekend hours as required
  • Capable of standing and walking extensively, lifting up to 50 lbs.
