An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Emergency Room experience to provide critical care in a dynamic healthcare setting. This contract role is based in Shelby, MT, a welcoming community known for its small-town charm and access to beautiful outdoor spaces. Responsibilities:

• Deliver nursing care to patients in an 8-bed unit consisting of 3 Emergency Room beds and 5 Medical-Surgical beds.
• Conduct physical assessments, administer medications, and manage wound care, IV therapy, chest tube setup, splints, and casting assistance.
• Perform triage and maintain ER registration using Meditech system, particularly during midnight shifts.
• Collaborate with a team including CNAs, HUCs, charge nurses, and hospitalists to ensure continuous patient care.
• Maintain patient ratios averaging 1 RN to 3 patients and participate in weekend and holiday rotations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, preferably in a critical access setting with Emergency Room background.
• Licenses and certifications: Current RN license, BLS, ACLS required. CPI/MOAB, TNCC, NRP, and PALS certifications are preferred.
• Proficient in IV skills, chest tube management, physical assessment, and medication administration.
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR, Baxter Sigma Spectrum IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing systems, and Spacelabs monitors.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour shifts: 0800-2000 and 2000-0800.
• Weekend rotation every other weekend.
• Holiday rotation every other holiday.
• No on-call responsibilities.
