A rewarding opportunity is available for a registered nurse experienced in emergency care to work in a busy Level 1 trauma emergency department. This contract position offers the chance to deliver critical patient care in a high-acuity urban trauma center known for its commitment to excellence and patient safety.
Location: Nixa, Missouri (near Springfield) A vibrant community close to many cultural and recreational attractions, offering a mix of small-town charm and access to larger city amenities.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients of all ages in the emergency department
- Conduct assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Coordinate care with ancillary departments to ensure optimal treatment and comfort
- Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold ethical standards
- Function within the scope of nursing practice and facility policies
- Handle physical demands including lifting and assisting patients as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Level 1 trauma emergency department or 2 years in a Level 2 trauma facility
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), TNCC, and NIHSS (obtainable prior to start)
- Experience with high patient volumes (200+ daily) and trauma/pediatric cases preferred
- Strong communication skills and clinical expertise in emergency nursing
Schedule/Hours:
- Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Weekend hours as required
- Guaranteed 36 or 48 hours per week (to be specified at submission)
- Block scheduling not available
Contract Details:
- 13-week assignment
- Contract job opportunity with flexible guaranteed hours
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required (November 1April 1)
