Job Description
A registered nurse with emergency room experience is needed to provide critical care in a fast-paced hospital setting. This contract position offers a 13-week assignment with a 36-hour guarantee working night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. Candidates must hold a current New York State RN license and have recent travel nursing experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current NYS RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications required
- PALS certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Minimum of one year acute care nursing experience; critical care and charge experience preferred
- Proficiency with MEDITECH electronic health records
- Able to identify and intervene in life-threatening situations effectively
- Strong leadership skills including prioritization and delegation; may be required to serve as charge nurse
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- IV therapy, medication administration, and phlebotomy certification during orientation
- Successful completion of lethal dysrhythmia exam and defibrillation certification within six months
Responsibilities include providing high-quality patient care, assessing clinical, educational, mental, and spiritual needs, recognizing safety risks for patients and staff, and executing safe patient transfer techniques. The role requires working efficiently under stress, problem-solving, and collaborating with the care team.
