A critical access rural hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses with ER expertise to provide comprehensive emergency and medical-surgical care. This contract position offers a dynamic role within a small but busy unit supporting diverse patient needs.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience, preferably in critical access centers
- ER background preferred over medical-surgical (MS)
- Licenses/Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; CPI/MOAB, TNCC, NRP, PALS preferred
- Strong IV skills, chest tube management, triage, wound care, splinting/casting assistance
- Proficient in physical assessments and medication administration
- Experience with ER registration and Meditech EMR beneficial
Responsibilities / Duties:
- Provide patient care across 3 emergency and 5 medical-surgical beds, managing a patient ratio of approximately 1:3
- EMR documentation and ER registration during midnight shifts using Meditech
- Collaborate with a supportive team including CNAs (who also perform HUC duties), a receptionist, and on-call phlebotomy services
- Participate in weekend rotations and holiday shifts every other holiday
- Ensure excellent patient monitoring using current technologies such as Baxter Sigma Spectrum IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing
Schedule / Hours:
- 12-hour shifts: 0800-2000 and 2000-0800
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- No on-call required
