Job Description

A professional Registered Nurse is sought to provide specialized nursing care within the Cardiovascular and Electrophysiology Laboratory. This role requires in-depth knowledge, keen judgment, and advanced skills in assisting physicians with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology procedures, structural heart interventions, and neuro-interventional techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients and procedure areas to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Review patient charts promptly, ensuring all documentation and lab results are complete.
  • Monitor patients pre- and post-procedure, communicating abnormal findings immediately.
  • Participate actively in procedural safety protocols, including Full Stop/Time Out processes.
  • Administer procedural sedation following unit policies.
  • Accurately document procedures and patient care in electronic systems in real time.
  • Independently circulate procedures within cardiovascular, electrophysiology, and interventional neurology labs.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment sensitive to patient comfort and privacy.
  • Support new staff through preceptorship and contribute to ongoing professional development.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Nursing degree (Associate, Bachelors, or Diploma) from an accredited program; Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Registered Nurse license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Preferred clinical experience in ICU, CVICU, Intermediate Care Unit, or Cath Lab.
  • Familiarity with cardiology and electrophysiology laboratory procedures a strong advantage.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Variable shifts with potential for on-call hours including holidays and weekends.

Candidates with Cath Lab experience and preference for ICU, CVICU, or IMC backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. New graduates and Med/Surg-only experience candidates will not be considered at this time.
