An opportunity is available for a skilled Cardiovascular and Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (RN) to provide expert nursing care within a specialized cardiovascular and EP Laboratory setting. This contract position offers a dynamic environment where advanced knowledge and technical skills are essential to support diagnostic and interventional cardiac, electrophysiology, and neurology procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare procedure areas and patients for cardiovascular and electrophysiology interventions, ensuring all documentation and lab results are complete.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care with vigilant monitoring pre- and post-procedure, promptly communicating abnormal findings to the medical team.
- Assist physicians by circulating during procedures such as cardiac catheterizations, device implantations, structural heart interventions, and neuro-interventional treatments.
- Administer procedural sedation in accordance with protocols and accurately document all aspects of patient care and procedural details.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort while fostering a therapeutic environment.
- Participate in educational activities, precept new staff, and pursue ongoing professional development to maintain certifications and enhance specialty skills.
- Respond to variable shifts and on-call duties including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Registered Nurse license with Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Bachelor or Associate Degree in Nursing; a Bachelors degree is preferred.
- Prior experience in ICU, CVICU, IMC, or Cath Lab nursing strongly preferred.
- Experience in a Cardiovascular and Electrophysiology Lab environment is highly advantageous.
