A critical role is available for a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) care at a major academic medical center in Winston-Salem, NC. This contract position offers the unique opportunity to deliver specialized perioperative nursing care in a Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital renowned for its excellence in cardiac, stroke, and trauma care.

This facility boasts 885 licensed beds and a 40-bed CVOR unit that averages care for approximately 130 patients daily, including both adult and pediatric populations. Nurses with at least 2 years of operating room experience in specialty areas, preferably with cross-service line exposure, will thrive here. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the CVOR, collaborating with anesthesia providers and charge RNs.
• Support patient care across various specialties within the intraoperative space, with flexibility to float as needed.
• Utilize advanced technologies such as Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems.
• Participate in orientation programs including NEO and departmental training to ensure competency and confidence.
• Adhere to scheduling that may include weekends, holidays, on-call duties, and an 8-week rotation cycle (details discussed during interview).

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure with BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience in relevant specialty (CVOR experience highly preferred).
• Familiarity with cardiovascular surgical procedures and perioperative nursing standards.
