Registered Nurse Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in the Cardiovascular Operating Room. This contract position is located in Spring Valley, CA, offering a dynamic schedule that supports work-life balance while utilizing advanced nursing skills in a fast-paced surgical environment.
Schedule:
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (variable start times between 0615-1100)
- On-call coverage 12 hours Friday night overnight and 12 hours on Saturday (day or night based on need) on a rotating 4-week schedule
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care during cardiovascular surgeries, including open heart procedures
- Support surgical teams in a variety of cases, including orthopedic, neurological, and robotic surgeries when cardiovascular cases are not scheduled
- Monitor patient status throughout preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
- Maintain sterile environment and adhere strictly to surgical protocols and safety standards
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members for optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current RN license with strong CVOR experience, specifically in open heart surgery
- Proven ability to adapt and assist in multiple surgical specialties such as ortho, neuro, and robotics
- Excellent critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work variable start times and remain flexible to on-call scheduling
