A specialized cardiovascular operating room nursing opportunity is available in Round Rock, TX, focusing on complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical interventions. The CVOR service line manages a comprehensive range of procedures including coronary artery bypass, valve repairs/replacements, aortic dissections, heart transplantations, and advanced mechanical circulatory support such as ventricular assist devices, impella, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and adult ECMO. Additional offerings include TAVR procedures and both laparoscopic and robotic-assisted thoracic surgeries, alongside vascular interventions such as ESRD graft/fistula placement and endovascular cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert perioperative nursing care during high-acuity cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries.
• Demonstrate proficiency in managing complex surgical equipment and assist in procedures requiring cardiopulmonary bypass.
• Participate in call coverage on evenings, weekends, and holidays, ensuring continuity of care.
• Function independently in a fast-paced operating room environment without requiring extensive onboarding.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of recent full-time CVOR nursing experience in a high-volume hospital setting.
• Proven competence in handling a broad spectrum of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures.
• Current ACLS certification preferred.
• Two verifiable references from prior travel assignments confirming ability to perform independently without training.

Schedule:

• 10-hour day shifts, Tuesday through Friday.
• On-call duties as per service line requirements.

This role is a contract position offering the chance to work with a multi-operating room CVOR service line that routinely manages four concurrent cardiopulmonary bypass cases, including an advanced endovascular suite.
