Reporting to the Department Manager and Clinical Coordinator, you will utilize advanced nursing knowledge in a fast-paced setting, ensuring holistic care for patients and supporting their families throughout the surgical experience.
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time
- Weekday, weekend, and holiday call rotation required
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN license
- Demonstrated experience as a Cardiovascular OR nurse
- Proficient in circulating and/or surgical tech roles during high-volume surgery periods
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for diverse patient populations
- Experience prioritizing and guiding surgical team members in urgent and emergent situations
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient care tailored to biological, emotional, developmental, and educational needs
- Coordinate and prioritize activities within the surgical suite, especially in urgent or life-saving scenarios
- Serve as a role model and team leader, assisting fellow staff in their clinical and organizational roles
- Support staff and self-development initiatives
- Carry out duties as a circulator or surgical tech during peak periods
- Fulfill call responsibilities per scheduling requirements
- Take on charge nurse responsibilities as needed
