Job Description
Step into a critical care environment providing specialized nursing care to pediatric patients in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. As a Registered Nurse in CVICU, you will utilize your expertise to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to children with complex cardiac needs on a contract basis.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract assignment
- Shifts may include 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios for ICU patients, and 1:3 for stepdown/non-ICU
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN license
- At least 2 years of recent, dedicated Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU experience
- Minimum 2 years in this nursing specialty
- Current certifications in BLS, PALS, and ACLS (required)
- Skilled in caring for children with severe or complex cardiac conditions
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to pediatric patients in a CVICU setting
- Monitor, assess, and quickly respond to changes in patient status
- Administer and titrate critical medications, monitor invasive lines, and manage complex equipment
- Ensure safe patient ratios per ICU/stepdown standards
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support both patients and their families
- Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with hospital protocols
- Prioritize patient safety, comfort, and family-centered care throughout every interaction
