Provide critical cardiac care as a Registered Nurse in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit setting. This contract opportunity focuses on delivering specialized support for patients requiring acute cardiac monitoring and treatment in a well-equipped acute care hospital. Night shift schedules provide the chance to work three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 PM to 7 AM, including every other weekend and holiday rotations, with no on-call duties required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to cardiovascular ICU patients, maintaining a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Monitor cardiac conditions and respond to acute changes using advanced clinical judgment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
- Float within the scope to similar units or sister facilities as needed, in alignment with current staff expectations
- Document care accurately using the Epic electronic health record system
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse with a valid South Carolina or Compact nursing license prior to start
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience, specifically in cardiac nursing or CVICU settings
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Previous experience in cardiovascular critical care is essential
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment
