We are seeking a skilled professional with Nursing - ORT and Certified Surgical Tech experience to deliver exceptional patient care. Your contributions will be vital in supporting surgeons and ensuring optimal outcomes for every procedure.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract position (duration discussed at interview)
- Shifts and hours to be confirmed
Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Surgical Technologist
- Previous experience as an ORT (Operating Room Technician) or in a nursing/surgical support role
- Up-to-date Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Familiarity with aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and sterile environments
- Ability to work collaboratively in high-pressure situations
- Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and operative staff before and during procedures
- Assist in positioning patients, draping, and passing instruments
- Monitor and track surgical instruments, ensuring all items are accounted for before completion
- Support strict adherence to infection control protocols
- Ensure OR tools and equipment are sterilized and ready for use
- Document patient information according to facility policy
- Respond quickly and effectively in case of emergency situations in the OR
