A skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (ORT) is needed to support dynamic surgical teams in a fast-paced clinical environment. Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential
- Proven experience working in perioperative/surgical environments
- Comprehensive understanding of aseptic techniques and surgical instrumentation
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate surgeons needs and maintain sterile field throughout procedures
- Effective communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving surgical schedules and priorities
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room and arrange necessary instruments and supplies for each procedure
- Scrub in alongside surgeons and other healthcare staff, ensuring standard infection control practices
- Assist in the safe positioning of patients and draping of surgical fields
- Handle and account for all instruments, sponges, and needles, maintaining accurate counts
- Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to surgeons quickly and efficiently
- Coordinate with circulating nurses and other team members for optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in pre- and post-procedure room clean-up and equipment sterilization
