Job Description

A skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (ORT) is needed to support dynamic surgical teams in a fast-paced clinical environment. Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential
  • Proven experience working in perioperative/surgical environments
  • Comprehensive understanding of aseptic techniques and surgical instrumentation
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate surgeons needs and maintain sterile field throughout procedures
  • Effective communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving surgical schedules and priorities

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room and arrange necessary instruments and supplies for each procedure
  • Scrub in alongside surgeons and other healthcare staff, ensuring standard infection control practices
  • Assist in the safe positioning of patients and draping of surgical fields
  • Handle and account for all instruments, sponges, and needles, maintaining accurate counts
  • Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to surgeons quickly and efficiently
  • Coordinate with circulating nurses and other team members for optimal patient outcomes
  • Participate in pre- and post-procedure room clean-up and equipment sterilization
