Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as an Operating Room Technician (ORT) and First Assist Tech
- Proven experience assisting in surgical procedures across multiple specialties
- In-depth knowledge of sterile techniques, instrumentation, and surgical protocols
- Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons during procedures
- Exceptional communication, organization, and teamwork abilities
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Commitment to maintaining patient safety and quality care at all times
Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room and instruments, ensuring all equipment is sterile and ready for use
- Assist surgeons during procedures as a First Assist, handling instruments and supplies efficiently
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition during surgery
- Practice strict adherence to infection control standards and protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Collaborate with the perioperative team to ensure smooth workflow and patient comfort
- Support post-procedure clean-up and readiness for subsequent cases
