What Were Looking For:
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Practical experience in Nursing - ORT or scrub tech roles within an OR environment
- Strong understanding of surgical procedures, aseptic technique, and patient safety protocols
- Ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs during procedures
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining a sterile field
- Excellent communication and adaptability skills
- Current BLS certification
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time contract position
- Shifts may include days, evenings, or variable hours based on surgical schedules
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up operating rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for use
- Assist surgeons during various surgical procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs
- Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and surgical instruments
- Adhere to strict infection control standards and maintain an organized work area
- Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and other team members to deliver optimal patient outcomes
- Participate in pre-operative and post-operative room turnovers
