Job Description

A specialized opportunity is available for a skilled CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) technician with strong vascular and thoracic surgery experience. This contract position offers a consistent day schedule of four 10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, providing a balanced work-life routine. Candidates with Level 1 Trauma Center experience are highly valued, and first-time travelers with this background are encouraged to apply.

Location: Situated in Indianapolis, IN, this role places you in a vibrant city known for its rich arts scene, diverse culinary options, and numerous outdoor recreational activities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive pump lines from perfusion and prepare them for cannulation.
  • Support a variety of complex surgical procedures including Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), and Heart & Lung Transplant, among others.
  • Collaborate closely with surgical teams during vascular and thoracic cases in a Level 1 Trauma Center setting.
  • Maintain adherence to strict safety and procedural protocols.

Desired Experience and Certifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of CVOR nursing/tech experience.
  • Experience in Level 1 Trauma Centers with vascular and thoracic surgery case exposure.
  • Required certifications: BCLS and NBSTS.
  • Ability to commit to 90-120 hours of on-call duty over a 6-week schedule.
  • Skilled in preparation and handling of perfusion pump lines.
  • Relevant surgical case familiarity such as Mitral Valve Replacement, Robotic Assisted Cardiac Surgery, and Aortic Dissection repair.

Additional Details:

  • Candidates will need to provide 2-3 days of interview availability.
  • Compliance with licensing regulations is necessary; please note specific state RN rules apply for contract start dates.
  • This position accepts first-time travelers with the required trauma experience.
