Job Description

This opportunity seeks a skilled surgical technologist to support operative procedures under the guidance of surgeons and registered nurses. The role involves arranging and managing sterile instruments, assisting the surgical team during operations, and ensuring proper preparation and sterilization of equipment and operating rooms. This position requires careful attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and arrange sterile surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
  • Assist surgeons and nursing staff by passing instruments and supplies as needed during surgery
  • Prepare and move patients safely within the surgical setting
  • Sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and rooms following protocols
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a sterile and organized environment

Qualifications:

  • Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) is required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • At least one year of experience in a surgical setting preferred; specialty field experience is a plus
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Ability to float to other units as needed
  • Compliance with Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) registration requirements for surgical technologists working in Colorado

Schedule:

  • 3 days per week, 36 hours total
  • 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • On-call availability as required
