Job Description

A contract opportunity is available for a Certified Surgical Technologist to support a healthcare team in Durango, CO. This role involves assisting surgeons and registered nurses during operative procedures by preparing sterile instruments and supplies, passing necessary items during surgery, and maintaining a clean surgical environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Arranging and inventorying sterile surgical sets and equipment
  • Assisting in patient preparation and positioning
  • Sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment, and operating rooms
  • Supporting surgical teams throughout operative procedures

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), unless covered under another clinical Colorado license
  • A minimum of one year of surgical setting experience preferred, with specialty experience a plus
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and inventory management
  • Flexibility to float to different areas as needed

Schedule and shift details:

  • 36 hours per week, spread over 3 days
  • 12-hour day shifts from 07:00 to 19:00
  • On-call duties as required
