Job Description

A surgical technology professional is sought to support surgical teams in a dynamic operative environment located in Bayfield, CO. This contract opportunity requires a skilled individual who provides essential assistance during surgeries, ensuring an efficient, sterile environment while working closely under surgeons and registered nurses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain sterile instrument setups, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Assist surgical teams by efficiently passing instruments and supplies during operations.
  • Support patient preparation and transfer to the operating room.
  • Sterilize and clean surgical instruments, equipment, and operating rooms.
  • Adapt to different specialty areas and float as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery certification from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist, unless covered by another Colorado clinical credential.
  • At least one year of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
  • Experience in specialty surgical fields is an advantage.
  • Basic computer literacy.

Schedule:

  • Three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM).
  • Total of 36 hours weekly.
  • On-call duties as required.
