Job Description

An excellent opportunity is available for a part-time Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) to support outpatient behavioral health services. This position is ideal for a collaborative clinician passionate about delivering psychiatric care in a community-based setting, working closely with an interdisciplinary team.

Schedule and Hours:

  • 16 hours per week (2 eight-hour shifts)
  • Required day: Thursday
  • Additional day: Flexible
  • 8:00 AM 4:00 PM shifts, including a paid lunch
  • 13-week contract
  • Targeting April 16 as a start date

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychiatric assessments for program participants, following initial evaluations by the Psychiatrist
  • Perform intake assessments and offer ongoing psychiatric care and follow-up visits
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, developing comprehensive treatment plans
  • Participate in collaborative treatment planning and multidisciplinary staff meetings
  • Order necessary lab work, diagnostic testing, and make referrals when indicated
  • Accurately document evaluations and care plans in the medical record system
  • Provide clinical consultation and engage in interventions with the support of the treatment team
  • Apply evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as motivational interviewing and trauma-informed care

Qualifications:

  • Active Nurse Practitioner license
  • DEA license
  • Certification as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP)
  • Ability to pass a caregiver background check
  • Psychiatric experience preferred (1+ year ideal but not mandatory)
