Now Hiring: School Psychologist Job Opening - Full-Time - Alexandria, VA

Sunbelt Staffing is partnering with a school district in Alexandria to find a qualified School Psychologist! This is a full-time position for 40 hours per week. In-person assessments are required 1-2 times per week. 

Job Duties:

• Elementary - High School level students
• Evaluate and screen students for potential psychological issues and make recommendations for treatment plans based on this screening
• Provide a full range of school psychology services to include counseling, consultation, meeting participation and assessment. 
• Problem solving when student crisis arise 
• Providing mental health support to students
• Counsel students and parents while pointing them toward further resources when needed
• Network with teachers and families to create 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that help ensure success for kids who have disabilities
• Collaborate with the special education team to design and implement intervention strategies and programs

Qualifications

• Candidates must be certified as a School Psychologist in the state of Virginia.
• Experience working with children with disabilities is preferred
• Organized and professional

To be issued a certificate in School Psychologist an applicant must satisfy the following:

• Bachelor’s degree and advanced degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution
• Completion of an approved program for the preparation of School Psychologist Support Professionals
• Demonstration of meeting the Content Competencies as prescribed by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP)
