Job Title: School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school community. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' specific needs, focusing on improving communication skills, articulation, fluency, and language development.
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups, utilizing evidence-based techniques and strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop effective communication goals and integrate speech and language strategies into the classroom environment.
- Monitor students' progress, track data, and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure continual improvement and achievement of targeted objectives.
- Educate and support teachers, parents, and other staff members in implementing speech and language strategies to enhance students' communication skills in various settings.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide input on students' goals, progress, and services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Stay current with advancements in speech-language pathology by attending professional development opportunities and engaging in continuous learning.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state license or certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred.
- Prior experience working as an SLP in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable.
- In-depth knowledge of speech and language disorders, assessment techniques, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to individual students' needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
- Dedication to professional growth and staying updated with current research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
