Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated and skilled American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to join a middle school near Huber Heights, OH. This full-time role is ideal for a passionate interpreter who enjoys working in an educational setting, helping students access the curriculum and actively participate in classroom activities. The interpreter will work closely with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, providing interpreting services that promote effective communication in both academic and social settings.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one ASL interpreting services for students in a middle school environment
- Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers during class and school activities
- Support the educational goals of students by interpreting lessons, instructions, and discussions
- Collaborate with school staff and special education team to meet each student's needs
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
Job Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- RID certification or equivalent state certification (preferred)
- Experience working with children in an educational or school setting (middle school preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work full-time for the current school year
