Job Description
Step into a vital healthcare environment, supporting patient care through precise laboratory testing and analysis. This contract position is ideal for skilled professionals experienced as a Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Technician, looking to contribute their expertise in a dynamic laboratory setting.
Schedule/Hours:
- 8/17 start date
- 7 shifts of 10 hours each, all worked consecutively in one week, then 7 days off (total: 70 hours per two-week period)
- Night shifts: 9:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Work week: Friday through Thursday
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT/MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
- Associate or Bachelors degree in Laboratory Sciences or a related field required
- Previous clinical laboratory experience highly preferred
- Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment and methodologies, including hematology, chemistry, and microbiology
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate laboratory tests and quality control procedures in accordance with established protocols
- Analyze results, identify discrepancies, and report critical findings promptly to healthcare providers
- Maintain clean, safe, and efficient laboratory workspace
- Troubleshoot equipment and instrument issues as they arise
- Document all procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with clinical teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment plans
