Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with a range of special needs
Utilize a variety of instructional techniques to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet the unique requirements of each student
Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and support staff to provide comprehensive educational support
Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and social growth
Provide regular communication and updates to parents, guardians, and the broader support network
Stay current with best practices in special education and incorporate innovative approaches into teaching

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
Valid Washington State teaching certification with endorsement in Special Education
Proven experience working with students with diverse special needs
Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and IEP development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders
Strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations
