Virtual School Social Worker

Job Description:

VocoVision is currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Virtual School Social Worker to support K-12 students with mild to moderate diagnoses in a remote learning environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the well-being of students while enjoying the flexibility of working from home. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assessments, IEPs, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.


  1. Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Evaluate students to identify social, emotional, and behavioral needs, utilizing virtual assessment tools and resources.

  2. Collaborative Intervention Planning: Work closely with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement effective intervention plans and strategies tailored to each student's unique needs.

  3. Virtual Counseling Sessions: Provide virtual counseling and support to students, fostering a supportive and inclusive virtual learning environment.

  4. IEP Meetings: Actively participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, contributing insights and expertise to the development and review of IEPs.

  5. Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and assess student progress, making necessary adjustments to intervention plans as needed.

  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all interactions, assessments, and interventions.

  7. Professional Development: Stay abreast of current research and best practices in the field of school social work, actively seeking opportunities for professional growth.


  1. Education and Licensure: Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program and state licensure as a School Social Worker or eligibility to obtain licensure.

  2. Experience: Proven experience working with K-12 students, specifically those with mild to moderate diagnoses.

  3. IEP Expertise: Strong understanding of the IEP process with a track record of IEP development and implementation.

  4. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for collaborating with diverse stakeholders in a virtual setting.

  5. Tech Proficiency: Proficient in using technology and online platforms for virtual sessions.

  6. Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently, demonstrating self-motivation and reliability.

  7. Workspace: Reliable internet connection and a quiet, private workspace for virtual sessions.
