Perform ultrasound imaging procedures with precision and care in a contract position located in Waukesha, WI. This role focuses on using ultrasound equipment to conduct general and vascular studies, accurately interpreting findings, and delivering patient-centered care in alignment with clinical and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of general and vascular imaging procedures.
- Review patient medical records, history, lab results, and physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
- Position patients correctly and select appropriate transducers and technical settings for optimal imaging.
- Use sonographic skills to adapt procedures based on anatomical and diagnostic information.
- Accurately label and document images with patient identifiers and scan details.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements by keeping thorough records and entering data into radiology systems.
- Identify and report equipment performance issues and evaluate new technologies for potential use.
- Analyze sonographic images and medical history to effectively communicate findings to physicians.
- Provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of developmental stages and patient-specific needs.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Proven competency in general and vascular sonographic procedures.
- Ability to independently distinguish between normal and pathological ultrasound findings.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills for effective patient and caregiver interactions.
- Adherence to department and organizational policies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to changing schedules.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and assist with patient transfers.
- Clear speech, vision, and hearing are required.
- Comfortable working around mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards with appropriate protective equipment.
