Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and specialized ultrasound exams for patients of all ages, ensuring image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
• Independently adjust procedures to meet specific diagnostic requirements per radiologist guidance.
• Prepare patients for exams, obtain patient histories, and explain procedures to patients and families.
• Utilize color imaging to assess abdominal arterial and venous systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper function and cleanliness.
• Assist radiologists during biopsies and set up sterile trays.
• Order labs and pathology tests as directed by radiologists.
• Document all procedures and image findings accurately and enter patient data into hospital information systems promptly.
• Contribute to quality assurance, quality control, and quality improvement programs.
• Support training and mentorship of fellow technologists and students, fostering a respectful learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven competency in general ultrasound imaging techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of ultrasound equipment operation and maintenance.
• Ability to adapt procedures independently and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Strong communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Prior experience assisting with biopsies and lab orders preferred.
