Job Description

This role focuses on womens health ultrasound scanning with an emphasis on perinatal, maternal-fetal medicine (MFM), and gynecological imaging. The typical caseload ranges from 8 to 10 exams per shift, primarily covering detailed anatomical surveys consistent with AIUM guidelines, including fetal Dopplers, biophysical profiles, fetal biometry, first trimester assessments, nuchal translucency, and transvaginal cervical length and gynecological exams.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams in womens health, including obstetric and gynecological imaging
  • Conduct detailed anatomical surveys and fetal assessments according to AIUM standards
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to provide accurate imaging information for patient care decisions
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort during procedures
  • Adhere to facility protocols and documentation using Epic charting system
  • Float within the scope of practice to support sister facilities in the surrounding area as needed

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program
  • At least 2 years of experience in perinatal/MFM and gynecologic ultrasound imaging
  • ARDMS certification in OB/GYN required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • South Carolina state ultrasound licensure must be obtained prior to start
  • Experience performing complex scans like fetal Dopplers, biophysical profiles, and transvaginal exams
  • Ability to work an 8:00 am 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday schedule with minimal overtime
  • Willingness to float within the local facility network when needed

Additional Details:

  • Navy blue or pink scrubs required
  • Orientation is held onsite during regular work hours
  • Facility may request participation in emergency response during hurricane season (JuneNovember)
  • Minimal overtime with guaranteed hours; facility may call off one shift every two weeks but does not permit call-outs
