Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Completion of an accredited Radiology Technologist program required
- ARRT certification and current state licensure in Radiologic Technology
- Prior experience in bone density scanning preferred
- Strong patient communication and education skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Proficient with imaging equipment and computer recordkeeping
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for bone density procedures, providing clear explanations and answering questions
- Perform scans and analyze initial results to guide further testing or recommend alternate scan sites
- Oversee daily operation and maintenance of the densitometer, computers, and accurate patient records
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and stock essential supplies
- Coordinate with pharmaceutical companies regarding protocols and records
- Ensure strict adherence to clinical protocols, identifying and performing necessary adaptations
